Genomic diagnostics company Veracyte Inc (Nasdaq: VCYT) disclosed on Tuesday that it has appointed Sangeeta Bhorade, MD to the role of medical director of pulmonology.
Dr Bhorade, who is is board certified in pulmonary and critical care medicine, will lead medical affairs for Veracyte's pulmonology products that include Percepta Bronchial Classifier and Envisia Genomic Classifier. She will report to Veracyte's chief scientific and medical officer, Giulia Kennedy, PhD.
Previously, Dr Bhorade served as professor of medicine and the medical director of the Lung Transplant Program in the Pulmonary and Critical Care Division at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine, where she launched its Lung Transplant Program and provided research and clinical expertise as a principal faculty member of the Interstitial Lung Disease Program.
In addition, Dr Bhorade initiated the Lung Transplant Program at the University of Chicago and served as its medical director.
