Theravance Biopharma Inc (NASDAQ: TBPH), a Cayman Islands-based biopharmaceutical company, has named Deepika R Pakianathan, PhD as its new director, it was reported on Thursday.

Dr Pakianathan has served as a vice president at JP Morgan, biotechnology research analyst at Genesis Merchant Group, postdoctoral scientist in the Immunology Department at Genentech Corporation and a managing member at Delphi Ventures. Presently, she serves on the boards of Calithera Biosciences Inc, Karyopharm Therapeutics Inc, and Mereo BioPharma Group PLC.

Dr Pakianathan holds a PhD and MS from Wake Forest University and an MSc and BSc from the University of Bombay.
