Bio-Techne expands COMET spatial biology platform with new SPYRE Panels and Amplification Kits
25 March 2026 -

Bio-Techne Corporation (NASDAQ: TECH) announced on Wednesday that it has expanded its COMET spatial biology portfolio with the introduction of SPYRE Focus Panels and SPYRE Amplification Kits, enhancing flexibility and sensitivity across its modular, automated workflow.

The new SPYRE Focus Panels, including Stroma and Vessel options, are designed to support targeted multiplex assay development using validated antibodies and ready-to-use protocols, while maintaining compatibility with custom markers. The SPYRE Amplification Kits utilise sequential and enhanced layered amplification (seqLA) technology to improve detection of low-abundance and challenging targets.

Bio-Techne said the additions strengthen its integrated spatial biology ecosystem, supporting deeper biological insights from assay design through to data interpretation. Updates to its HORIZON Image Analysis Software have also been introduced to optimise analysis of COMET-generated hyperplex images using the new SPYRE tools.

The company noted that the enhancements are expected to drive increased consumables adoption and enable expanded panel development, supporting research and preclinical therapeutic applications.

Bio-Techne provides life science tools, reagents and diagnostics to research and clinical markets, reporting over USD1.2bn in net sales for fiscal 2025 and employing approximately 3,100 people globally.
