AlzeCure reports positive Phase Ib results for Alzheimer's candidate ACD856
16 June 2026 -

Swedish biotech company AlzeCure Pharma AB (Nasdaq First North Premier Growth Market:ALZCUR) on Tuesday reported positive results from the completed Phase Ib clinical study of ACD856, its lead NeuroRestore drug candidate being developed for Alzheimer's disease and other indications.

The study evaluated the safety, tolerability, and pharmacokinetics of repeated administration of higher doses than previously tested. According to the company, ACD856 was well tolerated, no substance-related safety findings were observed, and expected increases in drug concentrations were recorded in both blood and cerebrospinal fluid.

AlzeCure said the results support continued development of ACD856, expand its therapeutic window, and provide a basis for dose selection in future clinical studies. The company noted that the findings could also broaden potential applications for the candidate, including depression.

Previous clinical data showed that ACD856 reaches the brain at relevant concentrations and activates neural pathways associated with cognition and depression. The company is preparing the first-in-class candidate for Phase II studies in patients, with the trial expected to begin in 2026.
