Biopharmaceutical company Bristol Myers Squibb (BMS) (NYSE:BMY) announced on Monday that it has selected Houston, Texas, for a new multi-modal manufacturing campus representing an investment of approximately USD2.3bn aimed at accelerating delivery of next-generation medicines.
The 600,000-square-foot campus at Generation Park is expected to create nearly 500 skilled jobs and is designed to expand in scale, capabilities and workforce over the coming decades.
This investment advances BMS' USD40bn commitment to US research and development, technology and domestic manufacturing over five years. The modular facility will allow the company to add and reconfigure manufacturing capacity as pipeline and commercial requirements evolve.
The campus will support manufacturing of multiple medicine types, including small molecules, biologics and antibody-drug conjugates, across various disease areas, from late development through launch. Its design also incorporates flexibility for future advances in digital integration and automation.
