Healthcare services company McKesson Corporation (NYSE:MCK) announced on Tuesday that it has signed a definitive agreement to acquire Precision Medicine Group, a global provider of clinical research and biopharma commercialisation services, for approximately USD2.25bn.

Following completion, Precision Medicine Group will report within McKesson's Oncology & Multispecialty segment, strengthening the company's clinical research and commercialisation capabilities.

Precision Medicine Group provides integrated services and technology-enabled products supporting drug development and commercialisation, including biomarker intelligence, laboratory services, global clinical research, market access consulting and commercialisation support.

The transaction remains subject to customary closing conditions, including regulatory clearance.
