Novotech, a clinical research organisation (CRO) and scientific advisory company, announced on Friday that it has agreed to acquire Agilex Biolabs, a specialist bioanalytical laboratory business headquartered in Adelaide, Australia, from a wholly owned subsidiary of Australian healthcare company Healius Limited (ASX:HLS).

This acquisition will add specialist bioanalytical capabilities in Australia to Novotech's existing laboratory network across Asia.

The transaction is intended to expand Novotech's clinical development capabilities and strengthen support for biotech and pharmaceutical sponsors conducting research in Australia. Novotech CEO Dr Anand Tharmaratnam said that Agilex's scientific reputation and capabilities will enhance the company's Australian offering.

Completion remains subject to customary conditions, including regulatory clearance.
