Australian biopharmaceutical company Immuron Limited (ASX: IMC; NASDAQ: IMRN), which develops and commercialises targeted polyclonal antibodies for infectious diseases, announced on Friday that it has signed an exclusive US distribution agreement with Swedish life science company Calmino group AB for PROIBS.
PROIBS is a medical device used to address abdominal pain, bloating and unsettled bowel movements, containing AVH200® derived from Aloe barbadensis Mill to support the intestinal mucosal barrier.
Immuron launched the product in Australia earlier this year, and the company is now targeting a segment of the USD4.16bn US digestive and gut health supplement market.
Calmino group AB conducted a usability study among 1,003 users, reporting that PROIBS was helpful for 94%, improved daily life for 91% and was recommended by 98%. The product has been available in Swedish pharmacies for more than a decade and is reported to be suitable for long-term use.
Immuron said the agreement aligns with its strategy to expand its digestive health portfolio in the United States. Calmino group AB said the partnership builds on its existing collaboration with Immuron following the Australian launch.
