Agilent Technologies Inc (NYSE:A), a provider of analytical and clinical laboratory technologies, on Friday launched the Agilent S540MD Slide Scanner System in the United States following FDA clearance, expanding its digital pathology portfolio for clinical laboratories.
The whole slide imaging (WSI) system is designed to support high-throughput pathology workflows amid growing sample volumes and demand for diagnostic efficiency. It can hold up to 540 slides, supports continuous loading and standard rack compatibility, and features automated scanning modes and advanced tissue detection.
The S540MD is the Agilent-branded version of the Hamamatsu NanoZoomer S540MD Slide scanner system. The US launch follows its January 2026 introduction in selected European markets.
The scanner is now available in the United States and Germany, the United Kingdom, France, Italy, Spain, Switzerland, Austria, Belgium, the Netherlands, Luxembourg, Denmark, Sweden, Norway and Finland.
