ValiRx receives notice of intention to grant Cytolytix European patent
10 August 2026 -

Life science company ValiRx plc (AIM: VAL) reported on Monday that its majority-owned subsidiary Cytolytix Limited has received formal notification from the European Patent Office of its intention to grant a European patent for "Polyleucine-Based Peptides As Anti-Cancer Agents".

The patent, licensed from King's College London, forms a key part of Cytolytix's intellectual property portfolio and, once granted, will strengthen its European patent position. It follows the European grant of Cytolytix's original peptide formulation patent announced on 27 May 2026.

ValiRx said the patents strengthen its ability to attract external investment and support licensing and partnership discussions. The company also filed a further patent application on 26 May 2026 covering novel lipid formulations for its second-generation delivery platform, with data demonstrating induction of immunogenic cell death in Triple Negative Breast Cancer cells.
