Swedish precision oncology company CHOSA Oncology AB (Spotlight Stock Market: CHOSA) said on Wednesday it has signed an agreement with a CLIA-certified laboratory to develop and validate Platin-DRP as a laboratory-developed test for commercialisation in the United States.
The company expects first revenue in summer 2027, subject to successful analytical validation and implementation under the laboratory's CLIA certification.
Platin-DRP is a gene expression-based biomarker designed to identify lung cancer patients most likely to benefit from platinum-based chemotherapy. CHOSA said more than one million lung cancer patients worldwide receive platinum-based chemotherapy each year.
The programme builds on results from the ETOP and EORTC SPLENDOUR Phase III trial, which analysed 82 patients with advanced non-small cell lung cancer treated with cisplatin or carboplatin. Data showed higher Platin-DRP scores were significantly associated with longer progression-free and overall survival, with median overall survival of 16.9 months in the high-score group versus 5.5 months in the low-score group.
Under the agreement, the laboratory will provide development, validation and related services to establish the test's analytical performance and implement CLIA-compliant procedures and quality controls for clinical use.
