Genetic Analysis AS (Spotlight Stock Market: GEAN), a Norwegian microbiome diagnostics company, on Friday announced the launch of its technology at the Centre for Digestive Diseases in Sydney, a specialist gastroenterology centre offering diagnostic and treatment services for a wide range of digestive conditions.
The installation is Genetic Analysis' first in Australia and marks a step in its international expansion.
The Centre for Digestive Diseases is recognised for its work in gastrointestinal disorders and faecal microbiota transplantation. Introducing the GA-map Dysbiosis Test supports its focus on microbiome-related conditions such as irritable bowel syndrome and inflammatory bowel disease.
Clinically validated to identify deviations in gut microbiota relative to a healthy reference population, the GA-map Dysbiosis Test is designed to provide reproducible insights into microbial composition to assist clinicians in evaluating and managing patients with microbiome-linked gastrointestinal disorders.
The implementation will give clinicians access to standardised microbiome information to support decision-making and patient management. Genetic Analysis said expanding access to validated microbiome diagnostics remains a priority as awareness of the microbiome's role in disease increases.
