Medical technology company Okami Medical announced on Wednesday that it has received approval from the US FDA for an expanded indication of its LOBO Vascular Occlusion System.
The expanded indication extends the use of LOBO into peripheral veins, expanding embolisation options for patients with venous conditions such as pelvic venous disease and portal hypertension.
The LOBO device, a novel embolisation system, is designed to offer physicians fast, reliable occlusion with controlled, mechanical precision across a wide range of peripheral vessel anatomies. It is based on Okami's proprietary HDBRAID construction, engineered to optimise deliverability, occlusivity, and stability for efficient procedures.
