Biotechnology company 4basebio PLC (AIM: 4BB) announced on Wednesday that it has signed a non-exclusive Strategic Collaboration and Marketing Agreement with gene therapy CDMO Genezen to provide drug developers with access to its research-use-only, high-quality and GMP-grade hpDNA technology for viral vector development and clinical programmes.

Under the agreement, Genezen will access 4basebio's synthetic DNA technology developed for viral vector applications, while the companies will collaborate on sales and technical presentations. 4basebio's enzymatic, cell-free manufacturing process eliminates microbial contamination and antibiotic resistance genes, potentially enhancing safety and accelerating development from sequence to clinic.

The collaboration expands access to 4basebio's synthetic DNA platform for next-generation genetic medicines and vaccines, supporting applications including gene therapies, genome editing, mRNA production and DNA vaccines.
